ARTICLE III
Membership
Section 1. Membership in this organization requires that a member support the Constitution, Bylaws and Objectives of the club and willingly work toward achieving its yearly goals.
Section 2. Memberships shall be Active and Non-Resident.
a.) Active members shall pay membership dues, and have all rights and privileges of membership.
b.) Non-resident membership may be granted by the Board
upon request by a member who has moved from the Metropolitan area. Non-resident members shall pay nonresident dues and shall have no power to vote. They shall have the privilege of attending three meetings each club year.
18 Section 3. Prospective members may request an application for membership. The applicant will present the application with the initiation fee to the Membership Chair. Names of candidates thus submitted shall be referred to the Board for action and at the next club meeting the Membership Chair shall announce the names of the new members. Yearly dues shall be required of new members. (See Article IV Dues Sections 1 & 5) New members shall receive their yearbook at their initiation or upon receipt of dues if they become members during the club year following the formal initiation.
Section 4. A member who resigns from the club shall send a written resignation to the Corresponding Secretary in order to remain in good standing.
Section 5. A member who has resigned, may be reinstated by the Board upon application accompanied by current year’s dues. A member who has been dropped from membership for non-payment of dues may not be reinstated, but must apply for membership in the regular manner and pay the initiation fee.
Section 6. Each member shall receive a yearbook only upon receipt of annual dues.
Section 7. Prospective members may attend two meetings of the club during a given club year as guests of the club. No guests may attend the Annual Meeting.
ARTICLE IV
Membership Dues
Section 1. Annual Membership Dues, and Initiation Fees will be
19 determined by the Finance Committee. Dues and fees will be announced at the March General Meeting for the ensuing year.
Section 2. Annual Dues shall be due and payable at the annual meeting and no later than the May Installation Meeting and shall be received by the Membership Chair.
Section 3. Annual dues shall be due and payable at the Annual Meeting and must be received no later than the May Installation Meeting. After the Annual Meeting one notice shall be sent to those who have not yet paid their dues. If a member’s dues have not been received by the May Installation Meeting membership will be inactivated and her name will not be included in the Yearbook. The inactivated member may rejoin by applying for membership in the regular manner and paying the initiation fee.
Section 4. Upon acceptance to club membership yearly dues shall be required of new members. Failure to pay these within one month following notification of acceptance applicants shall forfeit acceptance and initiation fee.
